Meet the TEAM!

Dr. Adrián Fernández Lodeiro completed his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and earned his PhD in Environmental Chemistry from the Department of Chemistry at NOVA University Lisbon (Portugal), where he specialized in developing novel methods for synthesizing metallic nanoparticles with applications in sensing, catalysis, and biomedicine. He is currently an MSCA Fellow at the University of Cyprus.

Currently, Adrián is looking for a new position starting in 2026 to continue advancing research in chemistry and materials science, with a focus on nanomaterials synthesis, characterisation, and their application in sustainable technologies. Researchers Night 2024 (Nicosia, Cyprus)

In Researchers’ Night 2024 in Nicosia, Cyprus, I had the chance to engage with the public by showcasing nanomaterials and introducing the basics of nanoparticles in a clear, accessible way. I spoke with visitors of all backgrounds, with a special focus on non-experts and children, using simple explanations and hands-on examples to spark curiosity and make nanoscale science feel approachable. It was a rewarding experience to see so much enthusiasm and to share how these tiny materials can have a big impact on everyday life.
